A member of the House of Representatives, Amos Daniel, has officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Daniel, who represents Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, made the announcement on the floor of the plenary on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the lawmaker said he dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) over irreconcilable differences faced by the party at various levels.
“I write to formally notify you, Mr Speaker of the resignation of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“This decision, though carefully considered, was not easy. Over the years, I have invested my utmost commitment and loyalty to the ideals of the PDP, which provided a valuable platform for me to serve my people and contribute to national discourse…,” Daniel said.
The Kaduna lawmaker also stated that while he remains politically grateful to the PDP, he has come to the end of his journey with the party due to its recurring crisis and unresolved leadership tussles, especially at the national level.
He added, “The party I once knew as a beacon of unity and purpose has regrettably been weighed down by its own inertia. As a servant of the people, I have chosen to re-align my path with a platform that better reflects the evolving aspirations of constituents in Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency and the imperatives of our time.
The lawmaker also noted that he is particularly drawn to the APC due to the pragmatic and people-centered leadership showcased by President Bola Tinubu and the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, both and the national and state levels.
