JUST IN: Details from Gov Idris Meeting with Tinubu Emerge

Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, on Friday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where they discussed ongoing security challenges and key development initiatives in the state.

In a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, Dr Idris expressed his appreciation to the President for the swift intervention that ensured the safe release of the 24 schoolgirls abducted last week from the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga.

During the meeting, the Governor gave a comprehensive update on the security situation in affected parts of Kebbi State and outlined the measures currently being implemented to safeguard residents.

He also highlighted priority development projects in agriculture, education, and healthcare designed to drive sustainable growth across the state.

The discussions further centred on proactive strategies and enhanced federal collaboration to tackle insecurity, including improved intelligence sharing, rapid-response mechanisms, and coordinated operations between state and federal security agencies.

President Tinubu commended Governor Idris for his proactive leadership on security and pledged continued federal support to accelerate development in Kebbi State.

The Governor was accompanied to the meeting by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
