No fewer than 40 people have been killed by bandits during fresh attacks on some villages in Kebbi and Zamfara states, Politics Nigeria reports.
According to reports, many others sustained various degrees of injuries in the incident which occurred early hours of Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Daily Trust claimed that at least six mobile policemen were among the 36 victims killed at Dan Umaru in the Zuru area of Kebbi State.
Residents who reportedly spoke with the media platform noted that the funeral of 27 people had taken place while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.
It was reported that the bandits also kidnapped an unspecified number of people and rustled hundreds of cattle during the attack on neighbouring villages.
The police authorities in the states had yet to make any official statement on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
