Former Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, is alive and in good condition, despite a wave of false reports on social media claiming he had died, POLITICS NIGERIA has gathered.
The rumour, which spread widely on Friday, was swiftly dismissed by his former Commissioner for Information, C. Don Adinuba, who described the claims as reckless and entirely fabricated.
Adinuba disclosed that he spoke directly with the former governor and confirmed that he is “hale and hearty” and currently residing in the United States.
“Obiano has never lived in the United Kingdom. He lives in the United States of America. I just spoke with him now,” he said.
He urged the public to ignore the misinformation, cautioning that such unfounded allegations cause needless panic among Obiano’s family, friends, and the people of Anambra State.
Obiano, who governed Anambra between 2014 and 2022 after succeeding former governor Peter Obi, has kept a relatively low profile since leaving office but remains active in private life.
Adinuba emphasised that the former governor is in good spirits and thanked those who reached out with concern.
