Details of meeting between Akeredolu, Oke, others emerge

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has met and reconciled with the aggrieved leaders of the Unity Group in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

It was gathered that the governor initiated the meeting which was held behind closed doors on Tuesday at the governor’s office. Chief Olusola Oke, the governorship aspirant who came second in the last primary, led the group to the meeting.

Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, Oke through his media aide, Rotimi Ogunleye, said that the group tabled some demands before the governor as a precondition for their support for his second term.

He noted that part of the demands includes the governor running an all-inclusive government after winning the second term election. Oke said that another demand of the group is that the governor will include Oke’s campaign group and the Unity forum into the campaign team for the election.

The APC chieftain noted that the group asked the governor to unite all members of the party and treat them as equal, where government patronages will no longer be sectional and right and privileges of members will be respected without hindrance.

He said at the end of the meeting, both parties have agreed to work together for the success of the party in the coming election.
