The Nigerian Police Force in collaboration with other security agencies have embarked on a ‘show of force’ ahead of the Edo gubernatorial elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 19th.
The exercise is to boost the morale of voters and assure them of adequate security during and after the exercise.
It will be recalled that the two frontline candidates in the election, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Osagie Ize-iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC signed a peace pact promising not to encourage thuggery and electoral malpractice.
