⁩ JUST IN: Police Kill 2, Arrest 2 Enforcers of Sit-at-Home Order in Ebonyi State

The Police Command of Ebonyi state, on Tuesday, said it had eliminated two suspected sit-at-home order enforcers at Okposi community in Ohaozara LGA who had conquered the area and also shot into the air intermittently to instil fear and tension among residents.

Commissioner of Police Augustina N. Ogbodo made this known in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Abakaliki on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya.

She stated that two hoodlums, Emmanuel Edwin and Chigozie Udeh, were caught, and valuable items were retrieved from them.

The commissioner stated that the hoodlums engaged the cops in a gunfight, which resulted in one of them being eliminated.

At the same time, another was arrested unconscious with bullet injuries but later passed away on the way to the hospital and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

“Some armed men suspected to be IPOB/ESN members went to Okposi in Ohaozara LGA and started shooting sporadically into the air.

“On receipt of the information, the operatives of the command immediately swung into action by giving the hoodlums a hot chase,” she stated.

A blue Highlander jeep riddled with bullets, a pump-action gun, five live cartridges, four mobile phones, a Sumec Fireman generator, charms, and various shop-robbed provisions were recovered from the suspects.

Also recovered from the hoodlums are red and black face masks, ten expended pump-action gun cartridges, and nine expended shells of AK-47 rifles.
