A total of 111 Nigerians have been repatriated from Niamey, Niger Republic, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said.

NEMA’s Kano office in a statement issued on Wednesday said the repatriation exercise was organised in collaboration with its partners, including International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The emergency agency said the process is in line with efforts to support Nigerians who intend to return to the country voluntarily.

“The repatriation exercise was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with key agencies involved in migrant support and reintegration.

A breakdown of the returnees includes – 87 adult males, eight male children, eight adult females and eight female children.

“Upon arrival, the returnees were transported to Chilla Hotel, where they underwent profiling and documentation on May 27, 2025,” NEMA said.
