13 arrested for APC office building arson

On Thursday, 13 individuals were arrested by the Kano police for allegedly setting ablaze the head office of the All Progressives Congress on Maiduguri Road in Tarauni local government area. The building houses the headquarters of Ibrahim Shekarau’s APC faction.

According to the police spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, the police were immediately dispatched to restore normalcy at the scene and to arrest the culprits. During the arrest of the suspected thugs (Yan Daba), a total of 34 dangerous weapons, 23 clubs (Gora) and two gallons of fuel (Petrol) were found. Court charges will be filed against the suspects.

In his remarks, “The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, warns that criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State. They are advised to either repent or leave the State completely. Otherwise, they will be arrested and face the full wrath of the law.”

In addition, Kiyawa thanked the people of Kano State for their prayers, encouragement, continuous support, and cooperation. He also recommended that residents pray for the nation and state, report incidences to the nearest police station, and not take the law into their own hands.
