15 abducted in latest Kaduna attack

Gunmen have kidnapped at least 15 people from Mani village in Chikun Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna state, according to local reports.

The attack occurred early Thursday morning, targeting “nursing mothers and young persons.”

The Kaduna police command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, has yet to respond to inquiries about the incident.

The north-western state has been plagued by a series of kidnappings and attacks in recent months.
This latest incident follows a troubling pattern of violence in the region.

On March 7, over 200 students and pupils were kidnapped from Government Secondary School Kuriga, also in Chikun LGA. Just five days later, 61 individuals were abducted in Buda community, Kajuru LGA.

Earlier in February, bandits killed six people in Kwasam community, Kauru LGA, where retired Central Bank of Nigeria director Zakariya Markus was also abducted.
