15 communities in 9 states to experience flooding – FG [FULL LIST]

The Federal Government on Monday announced that 15 communities across nine states of the country might experience heavy rainfall that could trigger flooding.

In an alert issued by the Federal Ministry of Environment, National Flood Early Warning Centre, said the flooding could happen between August 25 and August 29, 2025.

Signed by the Director of the Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, Usman Bokani, the FG listed the communities and states that could be affected by the heavy rainfall.

Below is a full list of the communities and states that could be affected by the flooding in Nigeria

Adamawa State – Abba-Kumbo, Mubi, Shelleng

Bauchi State – Azare, Jama’a

Borno State – Ngala

Gombe State – Nafada

Jigawa State – Gwaram

Kano State – Sumaila

Katsina State – Bindawa, Kaita, Katsina

Sokoto State – Makira

Zamfara State Anka

Recall that some communities across the country are already experiencing flooding at a devastating level.

Following the flooding in these communities including Mokwa in Niger; Yola in Adamawa among many others, several residents have been displaced with many lives lost.

In addition, properties worth millions have also been destroyed while houses were submerged in the floods.
