2023: 1,000 PDP members decamp to APC [PICS]

As the 2023 general election draws near, about 1,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State have left the party for the opposition, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the decampees who hail from Argungu and Zuru Local Government Areas (LGAs) were received recently by the state APC chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, at the ruling party’s Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi. They were led by some youth and women leaders, as well as PDP stalwarts from ward levels of the LGAs.

The new APC members paid tribute to the Chairman of Argungu Local Government Council, Alhaji Salihu Ahmad, who they said facilitated their entry into the APC.

Presenting the decampees to Alhaji Kana Zuru, Alhaji Ahmad commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his “exemplary leadership of unity, progress, prosperity, peace, security and economic growth.”

He described the PDP decampees as active and effective personalities whose entry into the APC would seal victory for the party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Argungu Emirate.
