As the 2023 general election inches closer, about 145,000 supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have resigned to join the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the decampees were welcomed to the PDP by the party’s’ presidential flag-bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who was in the state for the North-East Consultative Meeting on Wednesday.
He congratulated Governor Bala Mohammed and the PDP in Bauchi and called for team work in the area of massive mobilisation of votes to all PDP candidates.
“It is my honour to officially welcome all our decampees to PDP in Bauchi state, no any other party in Nigeria than PDP, because it is strong and older.
“Bauchi has witnessed unprecedented achievements under His Excellency, Governor Bala led PDP Government,” Atiku said.
The former vice president urged people of the state to give maximum support and cooperation to Governor Mohammed for better service delivery.
