About 2,000 supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have dumped the ruling party and joined the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State.
According to them, they have ceased supporting the APC citing the “failures” of the administrations of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The decampees also pledged to support and canvas more votes for PDP’s Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election.
The PDP Deputy Gubernatorial flag-bearer in Yobe State, Alhaji Bashir Abubakar Sadiq, received the new party members on Tuesday at Dogo Nini Ward in Potiskum Local Government Area (LGA).
Sadiq during his speech promised the decampees that he would work with them. He expressed his delight with their association with the PDP.
The occasion was graced by the PDP Potiskum Local Government Party Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu; PDP State Vice Chairman Zone B, Alhaji Hassan Sharu; among other party chieftains.
