Ahead of the 2023 general elections, about 300 persons from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State have left the party for the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a piece of related news, the Labour Party has received several political decampees from the APC and the PDP in Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.
Labour Party deputy governorship candidate in the state, Bashir Idris Aliyu, who hails from the local government received the decampees at Mararaban Jos, shortly before the local government party office was unveiled.
According to him, over 50,000 of his well-wishers from the local government have already followed him to the party but only receiving symbolically those present at the formal decamping event.
