What Ex-Kenya President, Uhuru Kenyatta Told Tinubu 48 Hours to Handover

The incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has received a call to establish a prosperous nation that caters for all Nigerians, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.

This was disclosed by the former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, during his keynote address at the Inauguration lecture organised by the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) in Abuja on Saturday.

In his speech, titled “Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development,” Kenyatta attributed the leadership crisis in Africa to detrimental ethnic divisions, religious intolerance, and economic selfishness.

In his words: “The contest is now over and the hardwork of building a prosperous and unified Nigeria now begins. Upon assuming the office of President, you would be wise to transcend from tactical politics of an election and assume your role as Nigeria’s vision bearer,” he said.

Kenyatta further urged Tinubu to surround himself with individuals who challenge his viewpoints and to extend his hand of fellowship to those who may hold grievances, in order to forge a more robust nation through collaboration.

The President-elect, in his address delivered by the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to stand together with the incoming administration to birth a better country.

Tinubu restated his commitment to the ideals of democracy as the best form of government.
