A non-profit organization, ANAP Foundation on Friday dismissed claims that Peter Obi, presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party for the 2023 election, flew in its private jet to Owerri, Imo State.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the opposition had interpreted a picture which showed an ANAP aircraft behind Obi to mean it conveyed the Labour Party candidate to Imo on Thursday for electioneering.
Deji Adeyanju, a critic of Obi had tweeted: “Before I can call anyone fraud, it is almost 100% confirmed.”
ANAP had conducted three polls which all favoured Obi.
Reacting to the claim that the former Anambra State governor travelled to Imo in its aircraft, ANAP clarified that Obi arrived in Owerri on a commercial flight and was departing the airport when its jet “taxied in behind carrying a casket on behalf of a family for a funeral”.
