As the 2023 election draws near, a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Charles Aniagwu, has said there are technocrats who are working in the Villa that the PDP PCC ‘has interfaced with in the course of its campaign’.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Aniagwu stated this against the backdrop of Governor Nasir El Rufai saying some “elements” in the Presidential Villa want the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, to lose the February 25 election.
The PDP official spoke on Channels Television’s programme, The 2023 Verdict on Wednesday, monitored by this newspaper.
“If the people in the Villa are Nigerians, and they believe that Atiku is the man that has what it takes to deliver this country, there is nothing wrong if they are working with Atiku.
“If they are Nigerians, as one, we can get it done.
He added: “I don’t know if there is anybody in the Villa who is working against him (Atiku).
“We need their votes (‘elements’ in the Presidential Villa). We believe they’ll vote for us because we have what it takes to revive this country.
“The issue of working with us, I can’t say, but as to whether they will vote for us, Nigerians, including those in the APC, by the grace of God, we believe will vote for Atiku and Ifeanyi Okowa.”
