2023: Confusion as Atiku’s wife asks electorate to vote APC

Wife of the Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2023 election, Hajia Titi Abubakar has erroneously asked electorate to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a video where she was seeking voters’ support, Mrs Abubakar said: “On the 25th of February, everybody should come. If you have not collected your PvC, everybody should come, go and collect your PvC, get it ready 25th of February, we should vote APC.”

This newspaper cannot yet ascertain where Mrs Abubakar gave the speech.

Meanwhile, Titi’s husband, Atiku, has vowed that the party will reclaim the Imo governorship seat in 2023.

Imo governorship election, an off season poll, will take place on November 6, 2023. Recall that the PDP lost the position on January 14, 2020, when the Supreme Court sacked Emeka Ihedioha, and declared Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Owerri on Saturday, Atiku described what happened in 2020 as a daylight robbery.

Atiku said Imo had been a traditional PDP state, stressing that the party is poised to restore the glory of Imo.
