2023: Candidates Obasanjo, IBB, Abdulsalami Abubakar are supporting revealed

Media Scholar and public commentator, Professor Farooq Kperogi, has said former president Olusegun Obasanjo is supporting Peter Obi, presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party for the 2023 election.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Kperogi also said former military Heads of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Ibrahim Babangida, are “decidedly” in the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Writing recently in his weekly column, the US-based professor stated that the “loyalties” of “the owners of Nigeria” are divided.

“Their loyalties are split between Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. While IBB, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Aliyu Gusau are decidedly in Atiku’s camp, Obasanjo and Theophilus Danjuma support Obi.

“Goodluck Jonathan also appears to favour Obi, but he isn’t quite a member of this exclusive club in spite of being a former president.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a bête noire to the ‘owners of Nigeria’,” Kperogi said.

  1. Nigerians should come out and tell this former bad leaders that they don’t own nigeria,by voting candidates of there choice.it is the masses that own nigeria

  2. It doesn’t matter who our past leader’s support, let Nigerians decide based on merit and not emotions.

  3. Let them support whom they like. We’re here so optimistic that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the next president of Nigeria by God’s grace

  4. 2023 General election like the ongoing World cup in Qatar have no ownership bearing to any acclaimed big names like OBJ, IBB, GEJ, Danguma, etc or Brazil, England, USA, Germany, etc.
An average Nigerian youth is absolutely Obidient and patriotically YusfuL to take back the country by voting out our known common enemy’s

    1. Yes my brother I am 68 but absolutely Obidient and patriotically Yusful. I am not Obidient and Yusful for myself but for the destiny of my children. I am what I am today thanks to deliverer we had in our time in the person of Daddy Awolowo. In whatever way he may fallen short of God’s expectations for our sake God will have mercy on him

    2. Publishing number or not quite irrelevant. What matters is the truth that can exalt this nation Nigeria. This is a time when all Nigerians(mature) should guide their conscience jealously.Anyone that mortgages his conscience this time around is a prodigal bastard, not son.A son can receive forgiveness and a welcome back but not a “prodigal bastard”.
So,if you are ready to follow the dictate of your conscience, forget about these neo-colonialists parading and branding themselves as
” owners of Nigeria”.Owners who cannot face the “wolves” that came to plunder her;owners who only minds their own buisness when their property(Nigeria) is facing great security, economic, political and farmine challenges.
Kudos to INEC that invented a device called BVAS which enables votes to count and conscience to matter. So,the so-called “owners of Nigeria” do not matter if we allow our conscience to matter.

    3. Tinubu is drug me so cant rule this country well
Atiku planing to sale the refinaries so he will buy it back from the other hand so he cant rule the country well.
For now let give the chance to rule.

    4. Nigeria will not survive 2023 election.everything on ground indicates chaos and inconclusive election. You will remember me when it happens

      1. The north now have crude oil and it’s not under the federal government. So the proceeds cannot be used as federal government budget because NNPC is now a private company.Do you think that the northerners are fools?. Kaduna refinery has been repaired and another one built in katsina. Bye bye Nigeria without war.

    5. The first thing is to NULIFY Decree 24 of 1999 (Constitution imposed) on Nigerian by Northern Millitry and return the 1963 Federal Republic Constitution,Any other things ,they dance around the REAL PROBLEM

  5. Who in his right senses will support Bola Tinubu…let us for the first time agree to make things right in this God forsaken country called Nigeria…let forget godfathers for their time has passed

  6. IBB,, Abdulsalami and General Gusau and Atiku Abubakar are the original owners of both PDP and APC…They formed both parties to foist their dream of northern domination of politics in Nigeria and Southerners Tinubu and Amechi were only used and the dumping will be done in 2023.

  7. The Moroco in Obi will shock all this idiotsss that is feeling like an elephant and giant.
The youth will deal with everybody.
Either they give us Obi or they leave this country for us..
    Backward people.

  8. Any person supporting Tinubu or Atiku don’t wish Nigeria good and Nigeria May explode on their faces. Nigerians have decided to take their country back from Political criminals. And we are going to use Peter Obi to achieve that. Peter Obi is the last hope for Nigeria.

    1. Today for Nigerian to be good again , all those that called themselves big fishes in Nigeria must quite politics, at least 70th years. And also stop god fatherlism in any form . It. Will make our lost glory to come back

    2. So Obi is the best in your opinion, can you give us tangible things he as done when he was in power in Anambra governor

    3. Go out and vote,u Nigerians talk too much, I have never seen election where follow citizen spend their time to curse and abuse one another in the social media than this election.may God have mercy, but let me tell u people, abuser of mankind, what that will be will surely be

  9. The best thing to ever happen in Nigeria at the moment is the emergence of Obi and God willing, he shall be swear in as president of Federal Republic of Nigeria come May 29th 2023.

  10. Just like an unfancied African team, and underdog Morocco quietly silent former World and European Champions , Spain and another former European Champions, Portugal, that’s how Peter Obi will quietly silent the old order in Nigeria, come in 2023 general elections.

    1. if you know the polical calculation of Nigeria you know the Alh Atiku abubakar he is only candidate has a experience and prosperity to take Nigeria in the greater heights.

    2. Let them support anybody they wish to. God is always behind who He has chosen. IBB, OBJ, others are not after the development of this country. Tinubu remains outstanding for 2023 presidential election

    3. These people are already considering who they will sponsor for a coup. They are deeply evil people who don’t care about Nigeria. No one who cares about Nigeria will ever support Atiku. Tinubu is much better.

  11. The reality points to the need for some coalition like some partisan power sharing triumvirate in which the loading presidency could reflect the diversity already nationally discernable from the electioneering. The Winner should not take it all at this barely impressionable years of our democracy, about only 25 years old of democracy that other climes have tasted and institutionalized and deepened since about 430 BC.
Nigerians would have a better democracy if they have Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu, and Atiku Abubakar having some power sharing MOU that will avail the nation of their collective wealth of experience simultaneously rather than consecutively given the truth that these citizens may no more have so much time to wait for each to take the turn in building the nation presidentially. Joining forces in national interest irrespective of partisan differences could deepen the roots of diversity and bridge much on inclusivity going forward. This presupposes that a Bola Tinubu Presidency could find an engaging space for Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, and vice versa. In overriding National Interest, the Winner must not take it all in 2023 and the nation’s influential kingmakers must rise above raining primordial and fixated on impositions no more in tune with present day national leadership realities. The Shape of Nigeria’s plurality clearly calls for some home-grown Collegiate Presidency that Nigeria may not need to search from where to copy and paste; this could be Nigeria’s contribution Democracy as a global system of government ever to be evolving and adapted to certain geopolitical space as the doctrine of necessity would dictate.
These were some of the realities that became manifest while I was being prepared to become the President of Nigeria someday and when that preparation is done as it is likely in the foreseeable times, we would join forces with all well-meaning Nigerians to move the nation to where it should be with people-uplifting leadership that a national college of Nigerians alone would make possible, even if that presidential college would be made up of a President from every Local Government Area in Nigeria, after all no Nigerian is LESS NIGERIAN than another.

  12. It is clear in the write up that the so called owners of the country have chosen the candidates along religion line. Please without fear or contradiction that God Almighty is the owner of Nigeria.
The names mentioned above are only entitled to a vote each and such can never win the elections. The nonsense of the appellate *owner of the Nigeria* should henceforth be removed

  13. Peter obi is the next president of Nigeria, Tinubu and Atika are well known thieves, Nigeria will collapse if any of them becomes president

  14. They only have one vote each & of d old era who may not even be able to influence d voting directions of their family members unless u are talking about d incumbent who has d power to do & undo as far as Nigerian politics is concerned

  15. I think most well informed Nigerians have made up their minds about whom to vote for regardless of whom the so called “Owners of Nigeria”,support. I think it is only in the deep North that certain people, less informed could be coerxed to line up behind a particular candidate(s). Generally speaking, democracy will sow a seed for the better in 2023. There are two desperate front runners and one untested hand as it seems; APC and PDP are perennial and offensive parties to associate with at this time as one more mistake will land us in a big trouble, probably to a point of no return.

    1. Well spoken, Nigeria is seriously on her knees and about to lose the little value that remains of it.. Thuggery and blood sheds every where.

  16. Nigerians are so sentiment In all out doings. Candidate pasted Heads of States are supporting in 2023 election. Those from Northern States are in support of Atiku, while those from Southern/Middle belts States are in for Peter Obi. Waoooo, how are we one country and we will go no where with this attitude.

  17. It is imperical evidence that the duo I.e.Atiku and OBI were mentioned and eah of them share their big-wig supporters in the ratio of 3’s which is 1:1, Atiku took his teammates supporter from North only while Obi took his supporters from South/North.Tinumbu had none lf the election is to go by these big wig Peter Obi has won the election by geographic spreading. BUT mark you , these people are entitled to one vote ONLY and their influences can not be felt through the use of BVAS My advise to the voters is to shine their eyes as to vote rightly and vote their conscience.

  18. Those who allegedly called themselves owners of Nigeria may be shocked on the outcome of the elections. They are not God but mere mortals and cannot play God over us anymore. I encourage all well meaning Nigerians to get their PVC and vote capacity, competence and character to deliver us.

  19. Hopefully as the illucive might gather in support of an assumed candidate, may God make that a source for the emergence of a different one that will rescue us from this domineering dilemma, amen

  20. If anyone manipulate the voters choice this time around, either by some former leaders, people of influence aided by INEC and refuse to let the peoples’ vote to count, I’m not sure NIGERIA will be ready for the outcome. The endsars might just look like a child’s play. If it’s true that IBB, Abdusalm and co are supporting PDP candidate it means the stories we Nigerians are hearing about their involvement in the present torment citizens are going through is true. We don’t need to look further for the enemies of the NEW NIGERIA of our dream. Anyone standing in the way to a NEW NIGERIA will be trampled by the enraged majority of NIGERIANS VOTERS. OBIDATTI WE STAND. No demonic alliance will see the light of day come 2023 Presidential election. OBIDATTI WE STAND.

  21. What a lengthy treatise? Obviously you are a patriotic Nigerian, no doubt. However, your democratic solution is built on the old and failed foundation of “equal sharing of the national cake” if you will allow me to use that term. Now the youths of Nigeria are determined to rescue Nigeria from the old, corrupt and insensitive leaders of the past. They want to reclaim Nigeria for the people of Nigeria and not for our so called leaders that do not care whether Nigerian children go to school or not, or our health institutions work or not, as long as they can afford the best of these from anywhere in the world. We want selfless, honest and truly patriotic leaders that can take us out of the failed state situation we have found ourselves. We may not get it all in 2023 alone but let’s start to move in the right direction now so that there will be hope for Nigeria in the future.

  22. Nigeria belongs to every Nigerians. Unfortunately, over the years, some people have decided to use the country’s economy as their own…
Looking at all the presidential candidates, Mr peter Obi happened to be the most qualified candidate.
We can not afford to leave this country in the hands of old, sick, desperate man like tinubu who have converted Lagos to be his personal business or Atiku who doesn’t live in Nigeria.
It’s time for Nigerians to take back their country. May God give us wisdom to know and choose the right people…

  23. Who owns Nigeria? Who created the world at large? Only God has a word over this country. To this end, he has given us a candidate. If we vote wisely, we will save this country from more future ill-explosions. I do not vote parties, I rather vote personalities. Peter Obi is my candidate for presidency.

  24. The will of the lord must prevail; and we must carry out our duty of voting there saving our generation and incoming generations from this sinking ship

  25. Well spoken, Nigeria is seriously on her knees and about to lose the little value that remains of it.. Thuggery and blood sheds every where.

  26. IBB, ABDULSALAM ND GUSAU are PDP members. Obasanjo has no party membership nd goodluck is not happy with PDP bcos he loose election in 2015.. i believe. Atiku stands a better chance on supports from our pass leaders nd king makers

  27. Peter obi is the only untested , but trusted candidate amongst them who will bail out Nigeria from many years of evil and wicked governance
Nigeria youths take back what belongs to you by coming out to vote massively for OBIDIENT

  28. Nigeria will be in better hand when Tinubu don dey rule like or not its a next move we can’t afford to give our country to a break away symbol

  29. We don’t need the influence of so call cabal’s, what we needed at this time is someone who can transform the country, and then have good policies that will favor a common man in the street. Thanks

  30. Obi all the way. Nigerians need a revivalist now and not vision less leader. Nigerians need to develop their nation through production of resources and not consumption of resources.
