Deji Adeyanju, a former Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday said “the best way” to ensure the South gets presidency is for aspirants like Bola Tinubu, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and others to step down their ambition for South-East, “in the interest of equity”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Adeyanju has been vocal in his call for the two major political parties in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to zone their presidential ticket to the southeast region.
Commenting once more on the issue, the convener of Concerned Nigerians said the actions of those demonstrating at party secretariats this week to demand Southern presidency, will only make the north more united.
“The protests demanding for Southern presidency at both APC and PDP secretariats are a waste of time. It will only unite the North. The best way to ensure South gets presidency is for Tinubu, Osinbajo and others to step down their ambition for South East in the interest of equity,” Adeyanju said via his verified Twitter handle.
