As the 2023 election draws near, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, has said he “will never” be a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an interview on Wednesday on Arise TV, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA, Baraje, a former National Acting Chairman of the PDP, said the claim by APC leaders that the party is a progressive one, is bogus.
Furthermore, he described the APC as a “sinking party” which he will not want to be part of.
“I am not in APC, and I will never be in APC,” Baraje said.
“Last week, they put out my name, that I am defecting to APC.
“And I told them that that is their wishes. It is this period that any sinking party will be looking for any good character to smear. And not me, Abubakar Kawu Baraje. That’s my stand.”
