2023: Goodluck Jonathan warned against supporting Tinubu

A prominent public commentator, Deji Adeyanju, on Wednesday warned former president, Goodluck Jonathan against supporting any presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Adeyanju’s warning is coming a day after the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday night, visited Jonathan at the latter’s residence located in the highbrow Maitama District of Abuja.

At the meeting, said to be a continuation of his ongoing nationwide consultations, Tinubu, who was accompanied by his running mate, Senator Kassim Shetimma, and five APC governors, sought the support of the former Nigerian leader in the 2023 presidential election.

However, Adeyanju cautioned Tinubu not to fall for APC’s ‘deceit’.

“Dear Goodluck Jonathan, you won’t die if you don’t support anyone in this election,” Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle.

“During the APC primaries when the cabal were deceiving you, hope you remember all my warnings to you that they just wanted to use and dump you. A word is enough for the wise.”
