The Movement for the actualisation of the sovereign state of Biafra, MASSOB has alleged that the Northern Elders Forum are using the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike to fight the Igbos.
MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, on Wednesday also warned the forum to avoid making inflammatory statements that could threaten the Peace of the nation.
Madu’s reaction is coming at the heels of a comment allegedly credited to Prof Ango Abdullahi that Igbo people killed several Northerners during the #EndSARS protest.
“Ndigbo have never killed the Arewa dwellers in Igbo land even during the EndSARS protest. It is not in our nature to hurt non indigenous people dwelling or residing in Igbo land but it is historic and eloquent records that the people of Arewa have killed the Igbo on several occasions in the northern region.” Madu said.
He continued; “The primary aim of Northern Elders Forum to Rivers State is to continue in their mission of divide and rule syndrome, they saw in Governor Nyesom Nwike as a willing tool of continuous perpetrating their enemity virus against Ndigbo.”
“They may have succeeded in deceiving some leaders of South south in seeing the Igbo as their enemies in the past.”
He added that the “divide and rule” syndrome was no longer workable.
The Pro-secession group also branded Abdullahi as an ‘expired political parasite’ that can no longer withstand the future political reality that will eventually change the political narrative of Nigeria.
It will be recalled that Governor Wike has been under severe criticisms following the deployment of soldiers to Obigbo, Rivers state following a skirmish between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and Police officers. This led to the death of several indigenes in the community which is largely occupied by Igbos.
