2023: NNPP Chairman opens up on party collapsing structure for Tinubu

As the 2023 election approaches, Professor Rufai Alkali, the National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has said that the party would not collapse its structure for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), or any other candidate.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Alkali insisted that the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would slug it out with the likes of Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come February 2023.

Alkali, a former national publicity secretary of the PDP, spoke recently with journalists in Lagos. He was responding to rumours that Kwankwaso, NNPP’s presidential candidate, was in talks with Tinubu.

Alkali said there is no more room for a merger, citing the rules and guidelines for the 2023 elections released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
