The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Osun State chapter, on Saturday, denied the claim that it has endorsed the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Caretaker Chairman of the NNPP in Osun State, Alhaji Abdussalam Abdullateef, issued the counterclaim at a press conference in Osogbo, the state capital.
Abdullateef stressed that four members of the party, who endorsed Tinubu, were “on their own.”
According to NNPP official, the party’s presidential flag-bearer, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is the only candidate “who has all it takes to give our dear country a new lease of life come May 29, 2023, and beyond”.
“We outrightly dissociate Osun NNPP from people of unstable credentials and anti-party characters.
“As for the genuine members of the party in the state, we further affirm that all candidates of NNPP in Osun State are working towards success at the 2023 polls,” Abdullateef said.
