Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), has said key stakeholders from the six groups that make up the Joint Arewa Committee will keenly monitor the campaigns of presidential candidates for the 2023 election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the committee which organised the just-concluded interactive session with presidential candidates comprises the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Arewa Research and Development Project (ARDP), Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation and Jamiyyar Matan Arewa (JMA).
We will follow the candidates closely as they campaign to see how much of what they said in Kaduna will find expression as they move around the country. We will closely monitor the campaigns and the political environment to see that all candidates have level playing field. https://t.co/l0dOn0t8TF

Asked by a Twitter user what will be the next move, Baba-Ahmed replied via a quote tweet on Wednesday night: “We will follow the candidates closely as they campaign to see how much of what they said in Kaduna will find expression as they move around the country.
“We will closely monitor the campaigns and the political environment to see that all candidates have level playing field.”
And then what? Individuals would vote their conscience at the polls and not a group (s) that propagate themselves as having regional authority. Instead of the so called Northern interest they should rather say Fulani interest.
