Rochas Okorocha, presidential hopeful and senator representing Imo west, has said President Muhammadu Buhari would consider several factors before endorsing any of the presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the former Imo governor, President Buhari would look at the “mood of the nation” and the probability of an aspirant winning in the general elections, before endorsing any of those who intend to succeed him in 2023.
Okorocha was speaking on Tuesday evening on Channels TV’s Politics Today, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA.
“First, he will look at the mood of the nation and see actually who will fit into the mood of the nation,” he said.
“President Buhari will look at who can win this election for APC because, definitely, he wouldn’t want to lose the seat to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). So, he will be smart enough to say this person can do that. So, there are a lot of considerations. It is not something he wakes up and says this person should go.”
