A presidential aspirant in the 2023 general elections, Doyin Okupe, on Wednesday lauded the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for their zoning decision on Tuesday.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the APC, after two high-level meetings within 48 hours, zoned the National Working Committee (NWC) offices.
The swapping of all offices commonly in the South for North and vice-versa gives the South the advantage of getting the presidential ticket.
The North will have the Chairman whose last occupant is former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
APC adopted the consensus option to pick its national chairman and other officers at its March 26 convention in Abuja.
Reacting to the APC’s latest agreement on zoning formula, Okupe, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member and presidential hopeful, asked: “where are you marching, my PDP?”
“APC wobbles, fumbles but finally lands on a sure and right footing. Zones chairman to the North and inclines President to the south in line wt predominant wish of an overwhelming majority of Nigerians. But alas! QUO VADIS MY PDP?” he wrote on his known Twitter handle.
