Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Chief Gibson Ovili, Akpos Ghana, and many other top local politicians on Sunday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opposition, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that making the announcement during a meeting with the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the APC, Friday Osanebi, Chief Ovili who spoke on behalf of the defectors said they decided to join the APC as a result of Osanebi’s personality.
According to him, Ebedei Ward 3 in Ukwuani Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State has always supported the PDP, but unfortunately, the people have nothing tangible to show for their commitment.
Two-time Ward 3 chairman of the PDP, Eddie Ozegbe; community leader Isaac Chuks were amongst those that defected from the PDP to APC.
Meanwhile, heads of various government agencies and Parastatals in Enugu State have passed a vote of confidence on the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi-led administration.
The group scored the governor high when they paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House in Enugu, promising to mobilise for Enugu PDP candidates.
