“I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”

The former Lagos State Governor was is in the state to meet APC delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primaries next week.

Last month, Governor Abiodun publicly declared support for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, another presidential aspirant and a native of the state.

Speaking against that backdrop, Tinubu speaking in Yoruba language amid cheers from the crowd, said: “It is roughly 25 years that I have been serving them. This one that sat behind me, Dapo (pointing to Governor Abiodun), can he boast about being Governor independently, if not for my support?”
