A former governor of Ekiti State and 2023 presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ayodele Fayose, has said that he does not know the intention of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan in respect of a possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that although Jonathan said he is yet to decide whether to contest in the 2023 presidential election via the APC, different political groups and political stakeholders have been pressurising him to dump the PDP for the ruling party and give the presidency a shot again. They believe President Muhammadu Buhari will endorse him.
Asked by Vanguard Newspaper what he thinks of a likely Jonathan defection to the APC, Fayose simply replied: “I am not in his mind”.
Jonathan ran the country on the platform of the PDP (2010 to 2015). He has not, however, been active in the party since he left power.
