Ahead of the 2023 elections, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso has visited a former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, at his residence in Minna, Niger State.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano state, was in Niger State on Wednesday and Thursday to Commission the NNPP Secretariat in Minna, the state capital, and consult with party stakeholders and elder statesmen.
He was received by large crowds of party supporters.
Kwankwaso is, however, yet to share details of his visit with Babangida as of the time of publishing this report.
Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Abuja has been asked to restrain Kwankwaso, and his running mate, Bishop Isaac Idohosa, from participating in the 2023 presidential election over alleged unlawful nomination.
The court was further asked to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from including the NNPP in the ballot for the 2023 presidential election on the grounds that the party failed to submit the names of its presidential and vice presidential candidates for the said election within the time allowed by law.
The suit filed by the Action Alliance (AA) has INEC, NNPP, Kwankwaso, and Idohosa as 1st to 4th defendants, respectively.
