2023 Presidency: “Obasanjo can’t sway even his own family members” – Masari

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has said his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains unshaken by the endorsement of Peter Obi, presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party, by former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Obasanjo, on January 1, endorsed Obi as his preferred choice for president in next month’s election.

He said although the former Anambra State governor is not a saint, he is the most competent of all the top candidates.

“Obasanjo cannot sway members of his family let alone sway the nation,” Masari said in a recent interview on TVC.

“Everybody has served, Let’s bring their credentials of service to their people; to the country and be honest and objective, who has more credentials? But for me, when you put them on the table, I will pick Asiwaju.”

Furthermore, the governor accused the Labour Party of building its campaign on ethnic and religious sentiments.

“The action which the Labour Party is taking is built along ethnoreligious considerations. Beyond the social media, beyond the media hype, who are your people on ground in the north?” Masari asked rhetorically.

  1. So the people who are supporting Mr. Obi are only christians and Ibos. Every now and then people like Masari like to maligh other be people without looking at themselves. Can you compare what Buhari did for eight years for Katsina people to and with what he did for instance Kogi State? Always talking down and negatively about others won’t do it.

    1. Umolu you have said it all. Masari is one of those who carry log wood that blocked and blind their visions yet ask another person to allow him remove a little dirt his eye.
They all know why they are cajoling and blackmailing the LP Presidential candidate, but they will all fail for God has decided to save the nation. Even if it is not Peter, God will not allow those swindlers to ascend the post.
