2023 Presidency: What I’ll do if PDP ignores southeast – Peter Obi

A presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, on Friday said he will respect the decision of the zoning committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should they elect against zoning the party’s ticket to the southeast region.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, said this during an interview with newsmen in Abuja after appearing before the Senator David Mark-led PDP Presidential Screening Committee.

“The party has the final say. I can’t have a thought; I’m a member of a party. If the party says this is where they want the party to go, if you’re a member of an organization, you respect that organization,” Obi said.

Obi was the vice presidential candidate in the 2019 Nigerian general election under the PDP, with Atiku Abubakar the presidential candidate.

His cheerers on social media are noticeable, although, Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has warned them that “more damage is done” due to their “antagonistic” nature.
