One-time Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Simon Okeke, has expressed shock that the All Progressives Congress (APC) which does not have rotation in its constitution had zoned the Presidency to the South while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had thrown it open.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Okeke stated that with the move, the PDP was heading to disaster.
Okeke made known his views during the public presentation of the book, “APGA and the Igbo Question” written by ace politician and founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie. He was Chairman of the occasion.
Although there had been reports that the PDP threw its 2023 presidential ticket open to all parts of the country, the Chairman of the Zoning Committee and governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, said earlier this month that the information was false.
PDP is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with its main rival, the APC.
It won every presidential election between 1999 and 2011.
