2023 Presidency: Wike working for Tinubu – Fayose opens up

Isaac Fayose, brother of a former Ekiti State Governor has alleged that Governor Nyesom Wike is backing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the forthcoming election.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Fayose’s claim followed similar assertion made last week by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council for Rivers State.

Wike has been at loggerhead with Atiku after the presidential primary of the party last year, which he lost to the former vice president.

The governor fell out with Atiku for reneging on the alleged promise to ensure the exit of the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, so that a southerner can lead the party for the sake of a “regional balance”.

Messrs Atiku and Ayu are both northerners.

Wike is a prominent member of the G5, a group of PDP governors who are aggrieved with Atiku and the PDP leadership.

Governor Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) are the other members of the G5.

Members of the group who were appointed to the Atiku presidential campaign council withdrew their membership and boycotted its inauguration.

Making his permutation in respect of the forthcoming 2023 presidential election, Fayose wrote on his known Facebook page: “It’s almost election day. Labour Party (LP) and support groups for Peter Obi need to consolidate in SS, MD (Especially Plateau, Benue), Ondo, Lagos, Kaduna, Taraba. These are the strong regions to get high numbers.

“The SE needs to show its hands massively.

“For SS: Wike is working for BAT, there is a heavy propaganda going on in Akwa Ibom, Okowa is ready for war in Delta, Bayelsa needs a structure to convert, Edo is certain.

“For SW: Lagos, Ondo can give us good numbers.

“Ogun state and Oyo next, let’s close out on our polling structure for Lagos, the numbers are there for the taking, for Ondo, we need Mimiko and the ZLP structure.

“BAT is playing a victim in the SW and unfortunately it’s working.

“For the Middle Belt: Plateau, Benue can give us good numbers, Plateau votes are very large like the KKK states and I need us to milk it.

“Nassarawa needs another visit, we need to energise the base and get our agents there right.

“For NE: Taraba and Adamawa will give us our highest numbers, we can ramp up heavy numbers in Taraba and come a very close second in Adamawa.

“In the NW: Kaduna will give us our highest numbers. We need Southern Kaduna to show its voting strength because it hasn’t and people don’t know its potential.

“In my opinion, let the support groups work on the other states in the NW, we might come 3rd/4th in Sunbelt states accross NW and NE and we can’t change much about it.

“Focus on these states and win with very huge numbers; Plateau, Benue, Edo, Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abuja

“Get a very large showing here, nothing less than 2nd with a close margin; Lagos, Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa, Ondo, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Nassarawa

“Nothing less than 25% in these states: Gombe, Oyo, Ogun, Bayelsa, Bauchi

“Those are our 24 states, let Labour Party, independent voters and our base work in the remaining 13 states.

“It’s too late to convince anyone now, what we need is finalising on our GOTV structure for the 25th to ensure maximum turnout. Also, educate our base on the LP logo.”

  1. With all that wike have said against apc/Buhari govt, if an angel is sent to contest under “”another problem coming apc”” and wike decide to work with that angel, then it is better to leave with satan under one room than to pass by the side of wike houuse

    1. I totally agree with you is most disheartening and really really highly unbelievable if this is true, Wike it’s one politician some of us believe in but if he turns out in this direction he’s likely to become a leader without followers.

    2. This is shameful. Where is the integrity in the G5 governors?
They have no love or concern for the suffering masses in Nigeria. This is very unfortunate.
