A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal on Thursday said the 2023 presidential election will go to a run-off.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that some analysts believe that the 2023 presidential election is a four-horse race between the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
“My thinking is that this election will go to a run-off,” Lawal said on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
“The chances of it ending on the first ballot is [sic] slim, but it is there. But one, APC is not on this ballot.
“Bola Tinubu (APC) will struggle to do well, Rabiu Kwankwaso (NNPP) will do well in Kano State particularly.
“Atiku of course will clear most of the Northern states.
“Igbos will vote Peter Obi, Peter Obi will get 25 per cent in the six south-south states, Peter Obi will get 25 per cent in the North Central states and parts of the North-East.”
