Former governor of Enugu State and Senator representing Enugu East, Chimaroke Nnamani, on Saturday said he “will never support a North-to-North transition in an African plural democracy”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had on Friday announced the expulsion of Nnamani and six others from the party.
They were expelled for alleged anti-party activities and other grave offences in violation of the Constitution of the PDP.
Initially, the PDP chieftains were suspended.
Nnamani had at the time of his suspension openly promoted the candidacy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the opposition, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He has refused to openly support his party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, since the former Vice-President emerged as the PDP’s presidential flag-bearer in May 2022. The incumbent Nigerian leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, is from Katsina State in the North-West region.

Most of these christian politicians from the south are either confused, ignorant or hypocrite or all of it. Now you said you will not support North to North transition but you support Muslim Muslim transition with Muslim VP?. If you are sincere, why not support Muslim Christian transition which Peter Obi represent in the present arrangement?. As i always say, southern Christians don’t care about the state sponsored killings of their Christian brothers and sisters in the north. Its unfortunate that even though the northern christains are all out for Obi, the southern Christians are all out for their belly. The killings will not stop with only the northern Christians because evil have no border except you resist it.
The truth is that I don’t understand some people especially the people of Easterners. How someone claim he doesn’t want to support north to north transition and supporting a muslim/muslim tickets. My best advice for the good people of Nigeria should try and do their best in other to vote for someone whom we will be proud of. Isn’t other person mr Peter Obi. He is the people choice.
