The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, has said the Peter Obi (Labour Party presidential candidate) factor accounts for more than 50% of the new voter registration.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which just concluded its Continuous Voter’s Registration (CVR) exercise across the country disclosed in a recent report that 12.2 million Nigerians newly registered to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). More than 70% are youths.
For Arabambi, Nigerians are developing a genuine interest in voting chiefly because Obi is in the presidential race.
“In the last election, half of the registered voters were docile. Today, we have 12 million registered voters, of which about 8 million of them are youths,” the Labour Party chieftain said in a recent interview on Arise TV, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA.
“I am telling you we have over 10 million that registered because of the new order in Nigeria. Everything pointed to the Obidient group, to which I am one of them.
“As we speak, all of us in Nigeria have been kidnapped. And the ticket that can free us from the captivity is the Peter Obi/Datti Baba-Ahmed mandate.”
