2023: Real reason we met Tinubu, Atiku, Peter Obi in London – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has said that he and some of his colleagues like Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia governor; and Nyesom Wike, Rivers State governor, met with Peter Obi, the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party; Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC); and Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in London, United Kingdom (UK), to discuss the challenges Nigeria is facing.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the PDP governors were in Europe for the past few days where they held meetings with the three leading presidential candidates and a former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Speaking shortly after their arrival, Ortom said their discussions were non-partisan.

“For us, we are looking at the larger picture,” the Benue governor said.

“Nigeria today is in distress. What can we do/ No man or woman alone can get it right for our country. We are looking at how we can harness ideas and put ourselves together to ensure that we get out of the challenge we are in Nigeria today.

“Nigeria is in distress, no doubt about that. From top to bottom. Consider what was happening in 2015, and where we are today.

“So, it is a concern that we have for our country, Nigeria. This is beyond partisan politics.

“We are looking at how to come together to ensure that Nigeria survives.”
