2023: Southwest Muslim leaders to host Tinubu to town-hall meeting

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) an umbrella body for Muslims in the South-West region, will meet with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday, December 11.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this was made known in an announcement/invitation letter sighted by this newspaper on Thursday. The invitation was jointly signed by Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, MUSWEN President; and Professor Muslihudeen Yahya, the organisation’s Executive Secretary.

The town-hall meeting with Tinubu is scheduled to hold at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

“This is not about any political party. We are therefore inviting all Yoruba Muslims regardless of their political affiliation,” MUSWEN’s statement partly reads.

Earlier, in November, MUSWEN formally endorsed Tinubu. According to the group, it had “no other choice”.

MUSWEN said Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, deserves to be elected as Nigeria’s next leader in 2023 because of his competence and track records.
