As the 2023 general election approaches, Hanatu Musawa, the Deputy Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation, has said that the alleged plot to remove Senator Abdullahi Adamu from office as the National Chairman of the ruling party is mere social media talks.
Musawa said this on Channels TV’s Politics Today programme on Monday night, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA.
“We have full confidence in him and I don’t think anything is going to change in that regard,” she said.
“I think most of what you are hearing in the news is not the official position of the party but talks around social media.
“Most leaders of the party and even the National Executive Council (NEC) are in support of his leadership.”
High-ranking members of the APC say reports about a purported move to remove Adamu are being sponsored by the opposition, vowing to put up a good outing in the 2023 general elections.
