A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osita Chidoka, on Thursday said Nigeria, in 2023, needs a president “that will smoke” bandits out.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that bandits is the codename in the northern region for organised crimes like kidnapping, cattle rustling, mass abduction, arson and even armed robbery.
Banditry attacks have continued despite actions by security agencies and local vigilante groups and the attempts by some governors to pacify the terrorists.
President Muhammad Buhari, whose tenure expires in 2023, has been widely criticised for his seeming poor handling of incessant killings in many states. And Chidoka believes a president with the will to deal appropriately with these criminals and unite the country is who Nigeria needs next.
