Deji Adeyanju, a former Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asked the party, as well as the All Progressives Congress (APC), to zone their presidential tickets to the southeast region.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Adeyanju argued that the Igbo people of Nigeria have never had power before, thus his sentiments.
The 43-year-old is insisting that it is the turn of Ndigbo to produce the next President of Nigeria as other zones had taken share of power. He called for justice, equity and fairness.
“Hypocrisy is when you want Northerners to zone presidency to South because you want a Yoruba man to be president after Obasanjo and Osibanjo presidency. Both political parties should zone to the Igbos who have never had it before,” Adeyanju wrote on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday night.
Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Kalu; the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi; former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim; former Governor of Imo State and Senator representing Imo West district at the National Assembly, Rochas Okorocha; are some of the politicians of Igbo extraction who have declared their ambition to run for the presidency ahead of 2023.
