Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage Services, Joe Igbokwe, on Wednesday advised his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to endorse the party’s National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as its consensus candidate.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Igbokwe, ratifying Tinubu as the APC presidential flagbearer in respect of the 2023 election, will ‘save the party a lot of money, time and energy’.
He lauded the former Lagos State Governor as having cheerers across the political and ethnic divides of Nigeria.
“Let us not waste money at a time like this. APC nigeria should adopt Asiwaju as consensus candidate. It will save us a lot of money, time and energy. His supporters cut across political and ethnic divides,” Igbokwe wrote on his known Facebook page.
Tinubu, who turned 70 last Tuesday, might be among the frontrunners to succeed Muhammadu Buhari, whose tenure as president ends in May 2023. He says he is in the race for the 2023 presidency to bring hope to Nigerians.
