2023: Why I’ll have no problem if Peter Obi is elected president – APC’s Akeredolu

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has said that he would have no problem with Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, emerging Nigeria’s president in 2023.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Akeredolu, Chairman of the Southern Governor’s Forum and a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) reiterated his stance that power must shift to the South in 2023.

“For me, it is not because of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu [presidential candidate of the APC]. If you listened to my lecture, I said if Obi is elected as president, for me, that will be all right,” Akeredolu said while speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday evening.

“If Bola Tinubu is elected, that will be all right. For me, it must come to the south; that is the position.”

Meanwhile, Obi’s Media Adviser, Valentine Obienyem, on Wednesday, assured that his principal’s campaign would be based on issues and not personality when it starts.

This is as he noted that the former Anambra State governor aligned with Tinubu, on issue-based campaign for the 2023 general election.
