Former Director-General (DG) of the Peter Obi-Yusuf Datti Campaign Organisation, Doyin Okupe, on Thursday assured supporters of the Labour Party candidate for the 2023 election that although he is “wounded on the frontlines”, he will heal soon.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Okupe on Tuesday stepped down from the position.
His resignation followed the ruling by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that convicted him (Okupe) of violating the money laundering Act
Okupe, in his resignation letter, said it was better not to allow his personal interest distract the campaign of Obi and that of the party, hence his decision to step aside.
Sending a message of hope to supporters of Obi, who popularly call themselves ‘the Obidients’, Okupe wrote on his known Twitter handle: “Dear Obidients. Many are d afflictions of d righteous but God delivers him frm them all. I hv been wounded on d Frontlines. By God’s Grace, I will heal quickly & resume at the rear guard.
“Our mission to Aso Rock in ’23 is irreversible & unstoppable, God being our helper.”
