Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, the Chairman of the Enugu East Local Government Area has presented a ₦20.734 billion appropriation bill for 2025.
The bill titled “Budget of Economic Growth Through Partnership’, was presented before the councilors on Monday, December 23.
Anike said the 2025 budget proposal, a 400 per cent increase from the previous year’s aligns with the innovation agenda of Enugu State government
The LG chairman also stated that the budget when implemented would help foster shared prosperity and inclusive development.
Details of the budget showed capital expenditure gulped 80 per cent amounting to N16.6 billion while recurrent expenditure take 20 per cent which is N4.04 billion.
According to the chairman, N2.14 billion has been earmarked road infrastructure which received the largest allocation.
He said the funds will be fix 200-kilometer road deficit within the council to complement the state governor’s efforts in delivering road projects.
“Other key sectors include education, agriculture, and health, which were allocated ₦2.07 billion, ₦730 million, and ₦690 million, respectively,” Anike said.
