JUST IN: President Tinubu Mourns Death of Wilfred Ndidi’s Father

President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, following the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi.
Sunday Ndidi reportedly died in a road accident on Tuesday in Umunede, near Agbor, Delta State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the death as tragic and expressed sympathy with the footballer and his family.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Sunday Ndidi. I share in the grief of his family, friends, and associates, particularly Wilfred Ndidi, who shared a strong bond with his father, who served as both mentor and guide in his remarkable football career.
“There is no doubt that Sunday’s modest beginnings and integrity left a lasting impact on all who looked up to him for inspiration,” the statement added.
President Tinubu prayed that God would comfort the Ndidi family and grant eternal rest to the soul of the deceased.
According to an earlier report, Sunday Ndidi, a retired military officer, was involved in a road accident in Umunede and was confirmed dead after being rushed to a hospital in Agbor.
Leicester City, Ndidi’s club, also confirmed the incident, saying, “We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our footballer Wilfred Ndidi’s esteemed father, Sunday Ndidi, in a fatal traffic accident.”
